SISSI Restaurant Berlin

SISSI Restaurant Berlin. Martin Hartmann and his team provide Austrian cuisine and culture in the name of the empress. The restaurant in Motzstrasse, Schöneberg has already been going strong for eight years, making a name for itself with Wiener Schnitzels, Saftgulasch and South Tyrolean spinach dumplings. Many guests keep coming back for the daily-changing lunch menu. Indeed, that’s how it all began.

Sissi was once a small delicatessen with a living room atmosphere that sold filled rolls in the morning and a choice selection of warm dishes at lunch. But it soon became clear that the guests wanted more. Sissi was expanded to become a big restaurant on two floors. Now it’s extremely popular with visitors to Berlin who like the classics, but also with regulars, who are drawn to the weekly-changing menu that shows how varied Austrian cuisine is and takes into account contemporary trends. Of course, everything on the menu is prepared with the utmost of care and the finest of ingredients.

Incidentally, Martin Hartmann, whose grandfather was a master baker, bakes eight kinds of bread each week – walnut, pumpkin and onion are just a few of his specialties. He is also the inventor of the Sissi cake.
